Sex Problems for Women
Getting turned or 'aroused' can be really hard for women. So many things get in the way.
- worries about how your body looks, body image, can make you self conscious and ashamed.
- being unsure what is expected by your partner, or what we want
- too many children, chores, other jobs to do, and no time to relax.
- hormone upsets which happen with periods, pregnancy and childbirth, the menopause, and emotional upsets.
- relationship difficulties can stop you being turned on
- not really liking what happens in sex, and not being satisfied by it
- family changes or other family problems.
There are many others. Mostly they are in the mind, but sometimes medical illness like depression, thyroid problems, chronic fatigue syndrome can be a cause. If in any doubt, see your doctor.
If you are not sure why you do not get turned on, a therapist could help you get to the bottom of it, and work out ways to change the situation. Some women just don't like sex, but they can do it for their partners and not mind it. Once they understand that, it may not sem so bad.
