spotting after orgasms...

General

i'm 22 years old and a virgin, so i'm absolutely positive my bleeding has nothing to do with a pregnancy. however, every time i have an orgasm (through oral sex or masturbation), i tend to spot (sometimes heavily depending on the strength of the orgasm). is this ok or is it something i should get checked out? i also occasionally pass small pieces of a body-tissue-like substance during menstruation, but when i went to the gyno he told me it was nothing to worry about. however, due to abuse as a child, i am terrified of anyone (including myself) inserting anything into my vagina, and therefore have never had any tests run on me at all or check ups of any nature. does anyone have any advice for me at all? any similar stories and what your doctors might have told you? anything will help. thanks!

Spotting after orgasm

As with any unexplained or irregular bleeding, this needs medical assessment. The gyneacologist reassured you about losing bits of tissue with your period, but it seems you didn't ask him about this. Is that so? I can't give you an answer here.
What I can say is that the serious after effects of sexual abuse can be helped if you feel ready to deal with them and get the help of a skilled therapist. A number of useful books are available too, one of the best if 'The Courage to Heal' by Ellen Bass and Laura Davies, available online from www.amazon.co.uk.
