Relationships
There is a wealth of information on Jewish law and its application to life. However, in discussions on sensuality, intimacy and sexuality there is a lack of specific guidance with regard to the behaviour and practices of Jewish individuals and couples.
Within traditional Judaism, sexuality is seen to require many controls in order not to breach the boundaries of Talmudic law. This can often lead to confusion and challenge for the client even if they are non-observant.
The cultural/ethnic impact of Judaism on sexual functioning and relationships can be usefully explored within a form of ethnotherapy, where sexual and relationship issues can be viewed through a supportive ethnic and cultural lens.
