Sex Problems for Men
There are several very good treatments for Erection Difficulties, and more are being developed all the time. There are 3 main types of treatment:
- Medical, involving pills such as Viagra, or injections into the Penis such as Viridal or Caverject, or temporary implants of a tiny pellet, called MUSE, into the tip of the penis. Very rarely, hormones may be used. More rarely still, surgery may be the best way forward.
- Mechanical, involving plastic vacuum pumps which draw up the penis into a large tube, causing the erection which is then held by a tight band at the base. Tension rings are useful for a man who can get an erection, but it won't last. You buy these from the manufacturer who will help you with advice on how to use them.
- Psychological, involving therapy either with your partner or on your own. This will mean getting some understanding about why the problem is there, and deciding on the best way to get it better. The therapist will then keep you going along the way.
