Retarded Ejaculations

Sex Problems for Men

Your site did not seem to have an answer to my problem therefore, I hope you can answer this for me. I am 56 years of age and when I climax, ejaculation is retarded, as if something has closed up and is restricting the flow. I eventually do "come" but I need to interrupt intercourse until it happens. It is a very uncomfortable feeling and it ruins the moment. Sometimes there is a burning sensation also.

I saw my physician with symptoms of an enlarged prostate about five years ago. He put me on Proscar. Shortly afterwards is when I first remmember having sexual problems. The doctor sent me to a Urologist who told me to stop taking the medication. I have tried two or thee other drugs for the prostate since that time but stopped all of them because I have low blood pressure and each of these drugs lowers blood pressure.

Could my ejaculation problems be related to the prostate or any of the drugs I took? What about the low blood pressure? The prostate problems are not severe and I currently am not taking any medications.

This problem is very frustrating, hope you can help.

Self-help?

I am a 29 yr old gay male who only recently became sexually active, although I've had quite a bit of experience with masturbation. I have discovered - to my surprise that is quickly becoming horror - that I have an extremely difficult time coming when I'm with another man.

I have read about Retarded Ejaculation on your main site and the information there proved helpful. However, I don't have a partner nor anyone else with whom I'd feel comfortable "working" through the problem. Are there any other self-help type solutions, or am I doomed to offending every man I'm with?

Thanks for your help.

Retarded Ejaculation

Thank you for your enquiry. I am not surprised that the web site didn't answer your issues as there is so much about sexuality that is totally individual!
We would suggest that your difficulty is not really related to the prostate, or the blood pressure, but to you and things that have influenced you. That is only a guess from my experience of this sort of problem. It is hard to overcome without expert therapy. You can read more about Retarded Ejaculation on our main web site.
Have you ever thought of consulting a specialist in this field?

retarded ejaculation

The non physical causes of R.E. are: lack of attraction or boredom with the sex partner. Low self esteem and performance anxiety. Spectatoring.
Eagerness to please the partner at the expense of ones' own sexual pleasure. A very high desire and orgasmic threshold which sometimes needs sexual newness, variety or certain types of sex acts in order to be reached.
